We pick you up from your hotel and depart for Duong Lam Village which is about 60 km west of Hanoi. This village has been known as a museum of laterite with ancient houses aged up to 400 years old. It is also the only place in Vietnam where the two kings came from. Walk around the village, you will explore the special architecture, traditional culture and traditions of countryside of Vietnam which is still well preserved today Mong Phu is the biggest and the most famous commune of Duong Lam Village. Here, you also can admire ancient houses made of laterite and mud, two materials that are abundant in the area, stroll in small lanes, and watch local people in their daily activities.
Enjoy lunch at an ancient house before driving to visit Mia Pagoda, built in the 15th century, with over two hundreds of all size refined statues displayed which among are famous sculptures such as the statue of Buddha and the statues of the ‘Eight Vajra Deities’. Following, visit the temples where dedicated the two national heroes - Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung.
On the way back to Hanoi stop at Tay Phuong Pagoda. The pagoda offers beautiful architecture and ancient and unique sculptures. It was one of the first pagodas built in Vietnam and has magnificent dragons and demons carved into the wooden roof.
