The photography tour starts early around 05:30 AM in order to catch the sunrise light behind the towers of Angkor Wat. We will tell you everything you need to know about the place and everything you need to know about your camera in order to take the best pictures possible. Learn how to handle the manual settings of your camera and become familiar with the technical terms such as aperture, shutter speed and ISO. In addition, you will learn about metering modes, auto-focus modes, white balance and, more importantly, how to apply this knowledge. Built in the 12th century as a funerary Temple for Suryavaraman II; Angkor Wat has over 1 km of spectacular carvings and a vast labyrinth of passages, courtyards and the five lotus flower towers at its centre. Our tour takes you to this famous site and a selection of the best of Angkor! Take beautiful photographs from the western end of the main building of Angkor Wat, have a delicious breakfast opposite the entrance to the temple
Then we move on to Ta Prohm. The temple has also been nicknamed the “Tomb Raider” temple, a moniker given to it after Angelina Jolie and company filmed the Tomb Raider movie there in the early 2000s. Entering what’s left of the temple of Ta Prohm literally feels like you’ve stepped into some mystic world, mainly due to the massive banyan trees, which have crazy, massive, thick roots. Over the centuries the roots have grown into and around the ruins, like sneaky snakes staking their claim on the land.
Discover the peaceful temple of Banteay Kdei as you enjoy the energizing morning light, visit what used to be an island in the vast Eastern Baray reservoir
After lunch, we visit the North Gate of Angkor Thom. At the centre of the great city of Angkor lies the Bayon Temple. It has 52 towers with the huge serene faces of the Jayavarman VII. To the north is the great plaza adjoining 300 metre long Elephant terrace, which must have been a spectacular meeting place 800 years ago. Behind this are the ruins of the Royal Palace & the Phiminakas pyramid
Spend the rest of the afternoon in the spectacular Preah Khan Temple with its tree-clad ruins and unique atmosphere.
Around 05:00 PM, our shuttle will drive you back to the hotel
